Po-Yu is a prize-winning violinist whose accolades include numerous awards from the National Student Competitions of Music held by the National Taiwan Arts Center, in categories spanning solo violin, piano, string quartet, and quintet. He was also the winner of the Talegraph Quartet Competition, which led to a concert tour across California with the ensemble.
As a soloist, Po-Yu has appeared with the Voice of Spring Symphony Orchestra at the Zhongli Arts Hall in Taiwan. A passionate orchestral musician, he was a finalist for the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and has performed with prestigious ensembles including The Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, New World Symphony, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, San Francisco Ballet, and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra.
Po-Yu has participated in master classes with distinguished violinists such as Arnold Steinhardt, Eyal Kless, Hilary Hahn, and Nathan Cole. Having been professionally trained since the age of eight, he has regularly performed in public concerts throughout his career.
He is a graduate of the Colburn Music Academy, where he was awarded a merit scholarship by Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Currently, Po-Yu is pursuing his Master of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying under Simon James and Cordula Merks.
